Laws § 487.13201","heading":"Articles of incorporation; approval generally.","body":"Sec. 3201.\n\nUpon approval of the application under section 3103 by the commissioner, at least 2 original articles of incorporation, executed by the incorporators, shall be submitted to the commissioner. The commissioner shall approve the articles if the articles conform to law. One of the original articles will be retained for the bureau's records and 1 of the original articles will be forwarded to the incorporators.\n\nBefore approving, certifying, and distributing the articles of incorporation, the incorporators shall furnish evidence to the commissioner that a firm commitment to insure deposit accounts up to the maximum permitted by federal law has been issued by the federal deposit insurance corporation, unless the commissioner, for good cause shown, waives this requirement.\n\nApproval of articles of incorporation by the commissioner under this act does not indemnify the bank against claims for the improper use of the bank name stated in the articles.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 487","Act Act-276-of-1999"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-487-13201","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"2489683577898e61507d5676c44bcd488a1e69b9e65e7c222cb897cc74177359","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-487.13108","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-487.13202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
