Laws § 493.5","heading":"Licenses; contents; posting; transfer; assignment.","body":"Sec. 5.\n\nExcept as otherwise provided under this section, the license shall state the address at which the principal office of the business is to be conducted and shall state fully the name of the licensee, and if the licensee is a co-partnership or association, the names of the members, and if a corporation, the date and place of its incorporation.\n\nThe license shall be kept conspicuously posted in the places of business specified in the license.\n\nThe license is not transferable or assignable without the prior approval of the commissioner.\n\nThe sale, transfer, assignment, or conveyance of more than 25% of the outstanding voting stock of a licensee that is a corporation, or more than 25% of the interest in a licensee that is a partnership or other unincorporated legal entity, shall be considered to be a transfer of the license.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 493","Act Act-21-of-1939"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-493-5","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"53082dd58f2d24b0e0d22cc2ec81aef7049980ed6595d1bace6d4d188a35041c","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-493.4","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-493.6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
