Laws § 500.1825","heading":"Purchasing group; information required before doing business in state.","body":"Sec. 1825.\n\nBefore doing business in this state, a purchasing group shall provide the commissioner with all of the following:\n\nThe identity of the name of the purchasing group through which it is purchasing liability insurance.\n\nThe identity of the state in which the purchasing group is domiciled.\n\nThe identity of all other states in which the purchasing group intends to do business or is doing business.\n\nThe identity of the specific types and classifications of liability insurance which the purchasing group intends to purchase.\n\nThe identity of any insurance company from which the group intends to purchase its insurance and the domicile of those companies.\n\nThe method by which, and if applicable, the person through whom, insurance will be offered to the purchasing group's members whose risks are resident or located in this state.\n\nThe identity of the officer or person responsible for the purchasing group.\n\nOther information as may be required by the commissioner to verify that the purchasing group is qualified under this chapter.\n\nA purchasing group shall notify the commissioner of any changes in any of the items set forth in subsection (1) within 10 days of the change.\n\nA purchasing group shall notify the commissioner annually of its intention to continue doing business in this state.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 500","Act Act-218-of-1956"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-500-1825","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"bf84215cddae518f57b9b0ec89b5b5db0d1876b72724e68d906bf09f1ea804ca","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-500.1823","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-500.1827"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
