Laws § 500.4669","heading":"Sponsored captive insurance companies; applicability of terms and conditions in chapter 48 pertaining to protected cell insurance company.","body":"Sec. 4669.\n\n(1) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the terms and conditions provided in chapter 48 relating to a protected cell insurance company apply in full to a sponsored captive insurance company.\n\n(2) Except as otherwise provided, all of the following apply to a sponsored captive insurance company:\n\n(a) A protected cell need not be established solely for the purpose of effecting insurance securitizations, but may be established for the purpose of isolating the expenses and claims of a sponsored captive insurance company participant.\n\n(b) The sponsored captive insurance company shall attribute all insurance obligations, assets, and liabilities relating to a participant's risks to the participant's protected cell.\n\n(c) Section 4805 does not apply.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 500","Act Act-218-of-1956"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-500-4669","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"34d6fa4b10f1545b2ecdbebb5734be9588e765c8b6c780eff0a523b00df4a832","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-500.4667","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-500.4673"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
