Laws § 550.1438","heading":"Limitation of benefits; provision of other health care benefits.","body":"Sec. 438.\n\nNotwithstanding any other provision of this act, a health care corporation may limit the benefits it will furnish to an eligible child enrolled in the program to the following primary health care benefits:\n\nDoctor office visits for a sick child.\n\nMedically necessary outpatient diagnostic tests.\n\nEmergency medical and accident care in a doctor's office or hospital's emergency room.\n\nMedically necessary outpatient surgery and anesthesia.\n\nPreventive care, including, but not limited to, immunizations and well-child visits to a doctor's office.\n\nOutpatient substance abuse care.\n\nWith the commissioner's approval, a health care corporation may provide other health care benefits in addition to the primary health care benefits set forth in subsection (1).","path":["MI Code","Chapter 550","Act Act-350-of-1980"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-550-1438","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"4952996e97a8b9441d3c6411563c8ee4ae2ef031e7290bd390c2be25daf64017","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-550.1437","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-550.1439"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
