Laws § 550.523","heading":"Disclosure of information.","body":"Sec. 3.\n\nA provider shall disclose all of the following information to the viator no later than the date the contract is signed by the viator:\n\nOptions other than the contract for a person with a terminal illness or condition, including accelerated benefits offered by the issuer of the policy.\n\nThat some or all of the contract consideration may be taxable, and that assistance should be sought from a personal tax advisor.\n\nThat the contract consideration could be subject to the claims of creditors.\n\nThat receipt of the contract consideration may adversely affect the viator's eligibility for government benefits or entitlements.\n\nThe viator's right to rescind the contract within 30 days after the date the contract is executed or within 15 days after the receipt of the contract consideration by the viator, whichever is less.\n\nThe date by which the contract consideration will be available to the viator and the source of the consideration.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 550","Act Act-386-of-1996"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-550-523","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"13648b18f01314ec6e18d084c8f90fb74d2c5dd3f7283c1c8f4a47a4dc5f2a74","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-550.522","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-550.524"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
