Laws § 550.609","heading":"Policy or certificate; contents.","body":"Sec. 9.\n\nEach individual policy or group certificate of credit life insurance, and credit accident and health insurance in addition to other requirements of law, shall set forth the name and home office address of the insurer, and the identity by name or otherwise of the person or persons insured, the amount of payment separately in connection with credit life insurance and credit accident and health insurance if an identifiable charge is made to the debtor, a description of the coverage including any exceptions, limitations or restrictions, and shall state that the benefits shall be paid to the creditor to reduce or extinguish the unpaid indebtedness and, wherever the amount of insurance may exceed the unpaid indebtedness, that any such excess shall be payable to a beneficiary, other than the creditor, named by the debtor or to his estate.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 550","Act Act-173-of-1958"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-550-609","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"5a12321b762f29c4235c9a0813e002c3bd8a1f142993fb35f5f7a1d54af83556","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-550.608","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-550.610"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
