Laws § 552.2206","heading":"State tribunal serving as initiating or responding tribunal.","body":"Sec. 206.\n\n(1) A tribunal of this state that has issued a child-support order consistent with the law of this state may serve as an initiating tribunal to request a tribunal of another state to enforce either of the following:\n\n(a) The order if the order is the controlling order and has not been modified by a tribunal of another state that assumed jurisdiction according to the uniform interstate family support act.\n\n(b) A money judgment for arrears of support and interest on the order accrued before a determination that an order of a tribunal of another state is the controlling order.\n\n(2) A tribunal of this state having continuing jurisdiction over a support order may act as a responding tribunal to enforce the order.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 552","Act Act-255-of-2015"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-552-2206","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"b03ff71745d9834c3c84654942f291c8d77d606b094e74bc18840c3c25fff728","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-552.2205","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-552.2207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
