Laws § 552.2506","heading":"Income withholding order issued in another state; contesting validity or enforcement; notice.","body":"Sec. 506.\n\n(1) An obligor may contest the validity or enforcement of an income-withholding order issued in another state and received directly by an employer in this state by registering the order in a tribunal of this state and filing a contest to that order as provided in article 6, or otherwise contesting the order in the same manner as if the order had been issued by a tribunal of this state.\n\n(2) The obligor shall give notice of the contest to all of the following:\n\n(a) A support enforcement agency providing services to the obligee.\n\n(b) Each employer that has directly received an income-withholding order relating to the obligor.\n\n(c) The person designated to receive payments in the income-withholding order or, if no person is designated, to the obligee.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 552","Act Act-255-of-2015"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-552-2506","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"eb29c2d025b81c0baa8d9c2570f031e30cb3b76e5fee5afb2024ade32b5ef66f","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-552.2505","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-552.2507"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
