Laws § 556.203","heading":"Applicability of act.","body":"Sec. 103.\n\nThis act applies to all powers of attorney except the following:\n\n(a) A power to the extent it is coupled with an interest in the subject of the power, including a power given to or for the benefit of a creditor in connection with a credit transaction.\n\n(b) A patient advocate designation under section 5506 of the estates and protected individuals code, 1998 PA 386, MCL 700.5506.\n\n(c) A delegation of a parent's or guardian's power regarding care, custody, or property of a minor child or ward under section 5103 of the estates and protected individuals code, 1998 PA 386, MCL 700.5103.\n\n(d) A proxy or other delegation to exercise voting rights or management rights with respect to an entity.\n\n(e) A power created on a form prescribed by a government or governmental subdivision, agency, or instrumentality for a governmental purpose.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 556","Act Act-187-of-2023"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-556-203","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"c10f1150ffb7de1044e1212b31eeee59c26131bb0555eedb9029ed7c73bcd4e2","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-556.202a","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-556.204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
