Laws § 556.503","heading":"Effect on existing powers of attorney.","body":"Sec. 403.\n\nExcept as otherwise provided in this act, on the effective date of this act all of the following apply:\n\n(a) Except as provided in subdivision (c), this act applies to a power of attorney created before, on, or after the effective date of this act.\n\n(b) This act applies to a judicial proceeding concerning a power of attorney commenced on or after the effective date of this act.\n\n(c) This act applies to a judicial proceeding concerning a power of attorney commenced before the effective date of this act unless the court finds that application of a provision of this act would substantially interfere with the effective conduct of the judicial proceeding or prejudice the rights of a party, in which case that provision does not apply and the superseded law applies.\n\n(d) An act done before the effective date of this act is not affected by this act.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 556","Act Act-187-of-2023"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-556-503","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"5fb0adfd8f17f4d2107906006d34055cd8dcfbb1c8091b3983c0457bae4d7042","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-556.502","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-556.504"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
