Laws § 560.144","heading":"Proprietor's certificate.","body":"Sec. 144.\n\nThe proprietor's certificate on the plat shall include the following:\n\nThe caption of the plat.\n\nA statement that the proprietor has caused the land described on the plat to be surveyed, divided, monumented, mapped, and dedicated as shown on the plat.\n\nA statement that the streets, alleys, parks, and other places shown on it that are usually public are dedicated to the use of the public.\n\nA statement that all public utility easements are private easements and that all other easements are reserved to the uses shown on the plat.\n\nThe name of each street, park, or other place that is usually public and that is intended to be reserved to other than public use, and the character and purpose of that use.\n\nA statement that the plat includes all land to the water's edge.\n\nThe proprietor's certificate shall be signed by the following, and each signature shall be acknowledged as deeds conveying lands are required to be acknowledged:\n\nAll persons holding the title by deed of the lands.\n\nAll persons holding any other title of record.\n\nAll persons holding title as mortgagee or vendee under land contract or who are in possession but are not renters.\n\nThe spouses of persons named in subdivisions (a), (b), and (c).","path":["MI Code","Chapter 560","Act Act-288-of-1967"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-560-144","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"88b0e8f027f21ef2aa5cc72e7e3c5885584ca2b3550bac70d583f2d6d89fbf27","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-560.143","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-560.145"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
