Laws § 570.542","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Sec. 2.\n\nFor purposes of this act:\n\n\"Customer\" means a person who causes a special tool builder to design, develop, manufacture, assemble for sale, or otherwise make a special tool for use in the design, development, manufacture, assembly, or fabrication of metal parts, or a person who causes an end user to use a special tool to design, develop, manufacture, assemble, or fabricate a metal product.\n\n\"End user\" means a person who uses a special tool as part of his or her manufacturing process.\n\n\"Special tool\" means any tools, dies, jigs, gauges, gauging fixtures, special machinery, cutting tools, or metal castings manufactured by a special tool builder.\n\n\"Special tool builder\" means a person who designs, develops, manufactures, or assembles special tools for sale.\n\n\"Person\" means an individual, firm, partnership, association, corporation, limited liability company, or other legal entity.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 570","Act Act-481-of-2002"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-570-542","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"075d5e2ef910468ec155e68abc59e7ff6b611ce4774ffbd980dd69ed802b7114","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-570.541","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-570.543"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
