Laws § 600.725","heading":"Partnerships; limited personal jurisdiction.","body":"Sec. 725.\n\nThe existence of any of the following relationships between a partnership or limited partnership or an agent thereof and the state shall constitute a sufficient basis of jurisdiction to enable the courts of record of this state to exercise limited personal jurisdiction over such partnership or limited partnership and to enable such courts to render personal judgments against such partnership or limited partnership arising out of the act or acts which create any of the following relationships:\n\nThe transaction of any business within the state.\n\nThe doing or causing any act to be done, or consequences to occur, in the state resulting in an action for tort.\n\nThe ownership, use, or possession of any real or tangible personal property situated within the state.\n\nContracting to insure any person, property, or risk located within this state at the time of contracting.\n\nEntering into a contract for services to be performed or for materials to be furnished in the state by the defendant.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 600","Act Act-236-of-1961"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-600-725","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"16e404236310d86918e2810f98be8d8abb2c4f1480214709c6783cf39dda8995","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-600.721","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-600.731"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
