Laws § 600.8308","heading":"Unlawful taking or detention of goods or chattels; civil action to recover possession; power of district court, municipal court, and common pleas court; conditions; delivery before judgment.","body":"Sec. 8308.\n\nSubject to the limitations of jurisdictional amount and venue otherwise applicable in the particular court, the district court, municipal court, and a common pleas court shall have the same power as the circuit court with respect to civil actions to recover the possession of goods or chattels which are unlawfully taken or unlawfully detained.\n\nThe conditions upon which relief is available under this section shall be the same as are applicable to actions in the circuit court under section 2920(1).\n\nDelivery of the goods or chattels to the claimant before judgment may be required only as provided in section 2920(1)(d).","path":["MI Code","Chapter 600","Act Act-236-of-1961"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-600-8308","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"bc4c29a4387b0268c203ca989db11b1ad3d299809cad767257895de66c8766d7","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-600.8307","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-600.831"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
