Laws § 600.874","heading":"Probate court; charge and collection of fees; waiver of fee for conduct of marriage ceremony; remittance.","body":"Sec. 874.\n\n(1) The probate court shall charge and collect the following fees:\n\n(a) For performing a marriage ceremony, $10.00.\n\n(b) For issuance of a commission to take testimony, $7.00.\n\n(c) For taking, certifying, sealing, and forwarding depositions, $5.00, and 10 cents per page, which fees shall be considered as costs in the case; and for each copy of the deposition furnished, 3 cents per page.\n\n(2) A probate judge may waive the fee for performing a marriage ceremony if the parties to the marriage are indigent.\n\n(3) A fee paid under subsection (1)(a) shall be remitted to the probate court for the county in which the probate judge performing the marriage serves.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 600","Act Act-236-of-1961"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-600-874","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"098f0725676984b97c0c0679b29c4d95ce1626cbb076183110dff1eb1808376e","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-600.8735","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-600.875"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
