Laws § 600.879","heading":"Prohibited compensation, fees, or costs; violation as malfeasance in office.","body":"Sec. 879.\n\nA probate judge, probate register, clerk, or employee of the probate court shall not receive or accept any compensation whatever for collecting from a fiduciary or estate any fees for the publishing of a notice or matter required in a proceeding in the probate court.\n\nA probate judge shall not collect or receive any fee from, or charge any costs to, a person unless the payment of the fee or costs is expressly authorized by law.
