Laws § 700.4203","heading":"Proof of authority; bond.","body":"Sec. 4203.\n\nIf local administration, or an application or petition for local administration, is not pending in this state, a domiciliary foreign personal representative may file with a court in this state, in a county in which property belonging to the decedent is located, authenticated copies of the representative's appointment and of any official bond the representative has given.\n\nAs to property in this state, a domiciliary foreign personal representative who complies with this section may exercise the power of a local personal representative, including, but not limited to, the execution and delivery of a deed under and in satisfaction of a land contract for the purchase of real property located in this state, a discharge of a mortgage, or a discharge of a security interest or financing statement or both, and may maintain an action or proceeding in this state subject to any conditions imposed upon nonresident parties generally.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 700","Act Act-386-of-1998"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-700-4203","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"a525f66baf88d0f0c326d40e5aba7387cc2a19782a0ccad11b303656354ce466","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-700.4202","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-700.4204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
