Laws § 700.7614","heading":"Claims due at future time, contingent claim, or unliquidated claim.","body":"Sec. 7614.\n\nA claim that will become due at a future time, a contingent claim, or an unliquidated claim is governed by the following:\n\n(a) If a claim becomes due or certain before the distribution of the trust, and if the claim is allowed or established by a proceeding, the claim shall be paid in the same manner as presently due and absolute claims of the same class.\n\n(b) For a claim not covered by subdivision (a), the trustee or, on petition of the trustee or the claimant in a proceeding for the purpose, the court may provide for payment as follows:\n\n( i ) If the claimant consents, the claimant may be paid the present or agreed value of the claim, taking any uncertainty into account.\n\n( ii ) Arrangement for future payment, or possible payment, on the happening of the contingency or on liquidation may be made by creating a trust, giving a mortgage, obtaining a bond or security from a distributee, or otherwise.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 700","Act Act-386-of-1998"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-700-7614","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"df0a18c094c9ff9cdb9b3432888ece72e0d891544e310ef63e9a01f161793bd6","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-700.7613","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-700.7615"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
