Laws § 722.1524","heading":"Abduction prevention measures in child-custody proceeding; court order; petition; warrant to take physical custody of child.","body":"Sec. 4.\n\n(1) A court on its own motion may order abduction prevention measures in a child-custody proceeding if the court finds that the evidence establishes a credible risk of abduction of the child.\n\n(2) A party to a child-custody determination or another individual or entity having a right under the law of this state or any other state to seek a child-custody determination for the child may file a petition seeking abduction prevention measures to protect the child under this act.\n\n(3) A prosecutor or the attorney general may seek a warrant to take physical custody of a child under section 9 or other appropriate prevention measures.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 722","Act Act-460-of-2014"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-722-1524","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"93f6c7f8ad92af9311db5300ebe9503e65a2623cbaa22c9f89b537532e725319","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-722.1523","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-722.1525"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
