Laws § 750.200i","heading":"Unlawful acts; penalties.","body":"Sec. 200i.\n\n(1) A person shall not manufacture, deliver, possess, transport, place, use, or release any of the following for an unlawful purpose:\n\n(a) A harmful biological substance or a harmful biological device.\n\n(b) A harmful chemical substance or a harmful chemical device.\n\n(c) A harmful radioactive material or a harmful radioactive device.\n\n(d) A harmful electronic or electromagnetic device.\n\n(2) A person who violates subsection (1) is guilty of a crime as follows:\n\n(a) Except as provided in subdivisions (b) to (e), the person is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 15 years or a fine of not more than $10,000.00, or both.\n\n(b) If the violation directly or indirectly results in property damage, the person is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 20 years or a fine of not more than $15,000.00, or both.\n\n(c) If the violation directly or indirectly results in personal injury to another individual other than serious impairment of a body function or death, the person is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 25 years or a fine of not more than $20,000.00, or both.\n\n(d) If the violation directly or indirectly results in serious impairment of a body function to another individual, the person is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for life or any term of years or a fine of not more than $25,000.00, or both.\n\n(e) Except as provided in sections 25 and 25a of chapter IX of the code of criminal procedure, 1927 PA 175, MCL 769.25 and 769.25a , if the violation directly or indirectly results in the death of another individual, the person is guilty of a felony and shall be punished by imprisonment for life without eligibility for parole and may be fined not more than $40,000.00, or both.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 750","Act Act-328-of-1931"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-750-200i","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"67e51acc2be937787414369a4956c97621232d0db7f8190b95cb40979738074c","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.200h","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.200j"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
