Laws § 750.200k","heading":"Applicability of MCL 750.200h to 750.200j; exceptions.","body":"Sec. 200k.\n\nSections 200h to 200j do not apply to any of the following:\n\nA member of the military forces of the United States or of this state acting under a lawful order or while engaged in a lawful military activity.\n\nA law enforcement officer enforcing the laws of the United States or of this state or while engaged in a lawful law enforcement activity.\n\nA person engaged in self-defense or the lawful defense of another person.\n\nUnless acting with an unlawful purpose, a person acting within the scope of his or her employment under a rule or a permit or license of the United States or of this state.\n\nUnless acting with an unlawful purpose, a person who within the scope of his or her employment violates a rule or a provision of a permit or license issued by the United States or this state to manufacture, deliver, possess, transport, place, classify, label, use, or release a substance or device shall not be prosecuted under this chapter.\n\nThis chapter does not prohibit the possession and use of a device that uses electro-muscular disruption technology as permitted under section 224a.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 750","Act Act-328-of-1931"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-750-200k","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"7585caa611188680b3e9a40ef2467fdea0fe55913a532fa70d1568ab9e3fd87b","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.200j","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.200l"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
