Laws § 750.25","heading":"Adulteration of butter and cream.","body":"Sec. 25.\n\nA person who possesses with intent to sell, or offer or expose for sale, or sell as butter or as cream, a product that is adulterated within the meaning of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 1 year or a fine of not more than $1,000.00.\n\nButter is adulterated within the meaning of this section if 1 or both of the following conditions exist:\n\nThe fat content is not exclusively derived from cow's milk.\n\nThe butter contains less than 80% of milk fat.\n\nCream is adulterated within the meaning of this section if 1 or more of the following conditions exist:\n\nThe cream contains less than 18% of milk fat.\n\nThe cream is not that portion of milk, rich in milk fat, that rises to the surface of milk on standing, or is separated from it by centrifugal force.\n\nThe cream is not clean.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 750","Act Act-328-of-1931"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-750-25","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"9d215eb26227f2a5161882d95f144f3ebce7ce7f42422957f5a17b668959eed4","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.249b","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.250"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
