Laws § 750.529","heading":"Use or possession of dangerous weapon; aggravated assault; penalty.","body":"Sec. 529.\n\n(1) A person who engages in conduct proscribed under section 530 and who in the course of engaging in that conduct does any of the following is guilty of armed robbery:\n\n(a) Possesses a dangerous weapon.\n\n(b) Possesses an article used or fashioned in a manner that would cause a reasonable person to believe the article is a dangerous weapon.\n\n(c) Represents orally or otherwise that he or she possesses a dangerous weapon.\n\n(2) A person who violates this section is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for life or for any term of years.\n\n(3) If a violation of this section results in an aggravated assault of or serious injury to any other person, the person must be sentenced to a minimum term of imprisonment of not less than 2 years.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 750","Act Act-328-of-1931"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-750-529","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"998c064a8498535435ab77a7cf89de2144af82d3198068153e55f98e35b6d8bd","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.528a","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.529a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
