Laws § 750.543h","heading":"Hindering prosecution of terrorism; conduct; felony; penalty.","body":"Sec. 543h.\n\nA person is guilty of hindering prosecution of terrorism when he or she knowingly renders criminal assistance to a person who has violated any section of this chapter other than this section or is wanted as a material witness in connection with an act of terrorism pursuant to section 39 of chapter VII of the code of criminal procedure, 1927 PA 175, MCL 767.39.\n\nThis section does not apply to conduct for which a person may be punished as if he or she had committed the offense committed by another person as allowed under section 39 of chapter VII of the code of criminal procedure, 1927 PA 175, MCL 767.39.\n\nHindering prosecution of terrorism is a felony punishable as follows:\n\nExcept as provided in subdivision (b), by imprisonment for not more than 20 years or a fine of not more than $20,000.00, or both.\n\nIf the person renders criminal assistance to a person who has violated section 543f, by imprisonment for life or any term of years or a fine of not more than $100,000.00, or both.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 750","Act Act-328-of-1931"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-750-543h","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"4650e1439311d47d0f8f16150d811659dcd58aba4e32bc840d4e9d06c10ace18","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.543f","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-750.543k"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
