Laws § 752.1062","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Sec. 2.\n\nAs used in this act:\n\n\"Contact point\" means any electronic identification to which messages can be sent, including any of the following:\n\nAn instant message identity.\n\nA wireless telephone, a personal digital assistant, a pager number, or any other similar wireless communication device.\n\nA facsimile number.\n\nAn electronic mail address.\n\nOther electronic addresses subject to rules promulgated under this act by the department.\n\n\"Department\" means the department of labor and economic growth.\n\n\"Internet domain name\" means a globally unique, hierarchical reference to an internet host or service, assigned through centralized internet authorities, comprising a series of character strings separated by periods, with the right-most string specifying the top of the hierarchy.\n\n\"Minor\" means an individual under the age of 18 years.\n\n\"Person\" means an individual, corporation, association, partnership, or any other legal entity.\n\n\"Registry\" means the child protection registry created under section 3.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 752","Act Act-241-of-2004"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-752-1062","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"c9d8992de04d18d496a21757a49ab18e5f88722b2c6707f8e8c1f7b08be78434","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-752.1061","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-752.1063"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
