Laws § 767.7d","heading":"Grand jury convened by court of appeals; circumstances.","body":"Sec. 7d.\n\nThe court of appeals may convene a grand jury under section 7c with jurisdiction over 2 or more counties in this state if a petition is properly filed under section 7b, and all of the following circumstances exist:\n\nThe petition establishes probable cause to believe that a crime, or a portion of that crime, has been committed in 2 or more of the counties named in the petition.\n\nThe petition establishes reason to believe that a grand jury with jurisdiction over 2 or more of the counties named in the petition could more effectively address the criminal activity referred to in the petition than could a grand jury with jurisdiction over 1 of those counties.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 760","Act Act-175-of-1927"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-767-7d","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"4adbb7f20b47161057bd9075580e140f96073eaa6c6736981eac739ff595c8ed","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-767.7c","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-767.7e"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
