Laws § 791.268a","heading":"Visits from minors; conditions; restrictions; “minor” defined.","body":"Sec. 68a.\n\nExcept as otherwise provided in subsection (2), a prisoner may be permitted to receive visits from a minor brother, sister, stepbrother, stepsister, half brother, or half sister if that minor is on the prisoner's approved visitor list.\n\nNotwithstanding subsection (1), the department may do any of the following:\n\nPlace limits on visiting hours, establish reasonable rules of conduct, and establish uniform quotas at each institution for visits to prisoners to promote order and security in the institutions and to prevent interference with institutional routine or disruption of a prisoner's programming.\n\nEstablish requirements for who must accompany the minor on the visit.\n\nDeny, restrict, or terminate visits as determined necessary by the department for the order and security of the institution.\n\nAs used in this section, \"minor\" means a person who is less than 18 years of age.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 791","Act Act-232-of-1953"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-791-268a","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"c368ab87384441335f4e9b88554b77466b8716413ac5be18da06b2e485665530","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-791.268","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-791.269"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
