Laws § 791.511","heading":"Certification or recertification of person employed as state correctional officer after March 30, 1983, but before January 1, 1985; requirements.","body":"Sec. 11.\n\nA person who is not employed as a state correctional officer on March 30, 1983, but who becomes employed as a state correctional officer before January 1, 1985, shall not be certified or recertified by the commission of corrections unless he or she has done both of the following:\n\nObtained a high school diploma or attained a passing score on the general education development test indicating a high school graduation level.\n\nFulfilled other minimum standards and requirements developed pursuant to section 13 by the council and approved by the commission of corrections for certification and subsequently for recertification.\n\nAll minimum standards and requirements for certification and subsequently for recertification of persons under this section shall be subject to approval by the state civil service commission.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 791","Act Act-415-of-1982"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-791-511","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"a4017cf1faf3b5a3817ba738f515ef1e6c75d84acf575c2a886c6934af139db4","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-791.510","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-791.512"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
