Identification and signal requirements, generally.\nFor purposes of sections 169.441 to 169.448, school bus means a motor vehicle that is outwardly equipped and identified as a school bus. A motor vehicle that satisfies the identification requirements of this section and the signal equipment requirements of section 169.442 is considered outwardly equipped and identified as a school bus.\nSubd. 2.\n[Repealed, 1994 c 647 art 12 s 43]\nSubd. 2a. Head Start bus; color; identification.\n(a) A Head Start bus is exempt from the color requirements of this chapter.\n(b) A type A, B, C, or D Head Start bus must bear on its front and rear a plainly visible sign containing the words \"Head Start bus\" in letters at least eight inches in height.\nSubd. 3. Sign on bus; application of other law.\n(a) Sections 169.443, subdivision 2; and 169.444, subdivisions 1, 4, and 5, apply only if the school bus bears on its front and rear a plainly visible sign containing the words \"school bus\" in letters at least eight inches in height.\n(b) Except as provided in section 169.443, subdivision 8, a school bus sign must be removed or covered when the vehicle is being used as other than a school bus.\nSubd. 4.\n[Repealed, 1Sp2003 c 9 art 10 s 14]\nSubd. 5.\n[Repealed, 2012 c 137 s 9]","path":["TRANSPORTATION","CHAPTER 169.
