Definitions.\n(a) The definitions in this subdivision apply to this section.\n(b) \"Electronic\" means relating to technology having electrical, digital, magnetic, wireless, optical, electromagnetic, or similar capabilities.\n(c) \"Electronic record\" means a record created, generated, sent, communicated, received, or stored by electronic means.\n(d) \"Electronic signature\" means an electronic sound, symbol, or process attached to or logically associated with a record and executed or adopted by a person with the intent to sign the record.\n(e) \"Record\" means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in perceivable form.\nSubd. 2. Electronic records and signatures.\nFor purposes of this chapter:\n(1) a record or signature may not be denied legal effect or enforceability solely because it is in electronic form;\n(2) a contract may not be denied legal effect or enforceability solely because an electronic record was used in its formation;\n(3) if a provision requires a record to be in writing, an electronic record satisfies the requirement; and\n(4) if a provision requires a signature, an electronic signature satisfies the requirement.","path":["BUSINESS, SOCIAL, AND CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS","CHAPTER 308B.
