Requirement.\nExcept as provided in subdivision 2 or section 97A.405, subdivision 2, a person over age 18 and under age 65 required to possess an angling license must have a trout-and-salmon stamp validation to:\n(1) take fish by angling in:\n(i) a stream designated by the commissioner as a trout stream;\n(ii) a lake designated by the commissioner as a trout lake; or\n(iii) Lake Superior; or\n(2) possess trout or salmon taken in the state by angling.\nSubd. 2. Exception.\nA trout-and-salmon stamp validation is not required to take fish by angling or to possess trout and salmon if:\n(1) the person:\n(i) possesses a license to take fish by angling for a period of 24 hours or 72 hours from the time of issuance under section 97A.475, subdivision 6, clause (4) or (5); or 7, paragraph (a), clause (3) or (5); and\n(ii) is taking fish by angling, or the trout or salmon were taken by the person, during the period the license is valid;\n(2) the person is taking fish, or the trout or salmon were taken by the person, as authorized under section 97C.035; or\n(3) the person has a valid license issued under section 97A.441, subdivision 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.","path":["GAME AND FISH","CHAPTER 97C.
