The division of senior and disability services within the department of health and senior services shall establish a dementia services coordinator as a full-time position.\n2. The dementia services coordinator shall:\n(1) Evaluate the coordination of dementia services within this state;\n(2) Coordinate information resources affecting Missourians living with dementia and their caregivers. Such coordination shall include, but not be limited to:\n(a) Using data to improve dementia service delivery for persons with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia;\n(b) Establishing and maintaining relationships with other agencies, providers, and organizations within the state in order to meet the needs of affected populations and prevent the duplication of services;\n(c) Supporting the provision of dementia-specific staff training across all relevant state agencies, including law enforcement, the department of health and senior services, and other organizations; and\n(d) Recommending strategies to improve coordination of dementia-related services and resources provided by public and private entities;\n(3) Streamline all applicable state government services to increase efficiency and improve access to dementia services;\n(4) Identify any duplicated services;\n(5) Identify grant opportunities to expand the scope of dementia services and apply for appropriate grant opportunities;\n(6) Complete other duties relevant to supporting policy development to enhance the quality of life for persons affected by dementia and their caregivers;\n(7) Promote public and professional awareness and education of dementia and access to needed services and programs; and\n(8) Monitor data concerning the impact of dementia in Missouri.","path":["Title XII - PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE","Chapter 192 - Department of Health and Senior Services"],"source_url":"https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSection.aspx?section=192.2155","current_through":"2026 legislative session (floor)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T22:23:26Z","sha256":"b2c7dbf0c584c5e431101fc6be9f369242ec918fe9c3bc661b3b8dd180773c62","source_id":"us-mo","stale":false,"prev":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-192.2150","next":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-192.2200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
