Stat. § 205.977","heading":"Tax authorized.","body":"Any county which has one or more service areas within its boundaries or which is within the boundaries of a service area may, by a majority vote of the qualified voters voting thereon, levy and collect a tax to accomplish any of the following purposes:\n(1) Providing necessary funds to establish, operate, and maintain community mental health centers, mental health clinics, or any comprehensive mental health services;\n(2) Providing funds to supplement existing funds for the operation and maintenance of community mental health centers, mental health clinics, or any comprehensive mental health services;\n(3) Purchasing any of the comprehensive mental health services from community mental health centers, mental health clinics, and other public facilities or not-for-profit corporations which are designated by the department.","path":["Title XII - PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE","Chapter 205 - County Health and Welfare Programs"],"source_url":"https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSection.aspx?section=205.977","current_through":"2026 legislative session (floor)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T22:23:26Z","sha256":"97f6ba3b2569181169ef504c0b7a944f7951dcb7f8346009c1416186732deb94","source_id":"us-mo","stale":false,"prev":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-205.976","next":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-205.979"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
