Stat. § 322.010","heading":"Definitions.","body":"For the purpose of sections 322.010 to 322.145, the following words and following phrases shall be considered and held to mean the following:\n(1) \"Affected with rabies\" , infected with the rabies virus as determined by standard laboratory testing;\n(2) \"Exposed to rabies\" , when bitten by, or fought with, or has come in close contact with a dog or other animal shown to be infected with the rabies virus as determined by standard laboratory testing;\n(3) \"Immunized\" , immunized against rabies at the expense of the owner or custodian by the administration of antirabic virus by a licensed veterinarian;\n(4) \"Rabies\" , hydrophobia; and\n(5) \"Zoonotic disease\" , a dangerous disease communicable from animals to humans as determined by the department of health and senior services.","path":["Title XXI - PUBLIC SAFETY AND MORALS","Chapter 322 - Protection Against Rabies"],"source_url":"https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSection.aspx?section=322.010","current_through":"2026 legislative session (floor)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T22:23:27Z","sha256":"02be5f162fa133470680bf3d04fab873009d699e20bfc545efc4be6eaa3a16bb","source_id":"us-mo","stale":false,"prev":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-321.800","next":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-322.020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
