Except as provided in subsection 2 of this section and subsection 3 of section 351.049, a document accepted for filing is effective:\n(1) On the date it is filed, as evidenced by the secretary of state's date endorsement on the original document; or\n(2) At the date specified in the document as its effective date when it is filed.\n2. A document may specify a delayed effective date, and if it does so the document becomes effective at the date specified.
