Stat. § 400.9-310","heading":"When filing required to perfect security interest or agricultural lien — security interests and agricultural liens to which filing provisions do not apply.","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b) and section 400.9-312(b), a financing statement must be filed to perfect all security interests and agricultural liens.\n(b) The filing of a financing statement is not necessary to perfect a security interest:\n(1) That is perfected under section 400.9-308(c), (d), (e) or (f);\n(2) That is perfected under section 400.9-309 when it attaches;\n(3) In property subject to a statute, regulation, or treaty described in section 400.9-311(a);\n(4) In goods in possession of a bailee which is perfected under section 400.9-312(d)(1) or (2);\n(5) In certificated securities, documents, goods, or instruments which is perfected without filing or possession under section 400.9-312(e), (f), or (g);\n(6) In collateral in the secured party's possession under section 400.9-313;\n(7) In a certificated security which is perfected by delivery of the security certificate to the secured party under section 400.9-313;\n(8) In deposit accounts, electronic chattel paper, investment property, or letter-of-credit rights which is perfected by control under section 400.9-314;\n(9) In proceeds which is perfected under section 400.9-315; or\n(10) That is perfected under section 400.9-316.\n(c) If a secured party assigns a perfected security interest or agricultural lien, a filing under this article is not required to continue the perfected status of the security interest against creditors of and transferees from the original debtor.","path":["Title XXVI - TRADE AND COMMERCE","Chapter 400 - Uniform Commercial Code"],"source_url":"https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSection.aspx?section=400.9-310","current_through":"2026 legislative session (floor)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T22:23:28Z","sha256":"5a10b37ec690fa57a86f9943dc08241a249c2c93829e30d9576b92459fd892d2","source_id":"us-mo","stale":false,"prev":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-400.9-309","next":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-400.9-311"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
