Stat. § 400.9-314","heading":"Perfection by control.","body":"(a) A security interest in investment property, deposit accounts, letter-of-credit rights, or electronic chattel paper may be perfected by control of the collateral under section 400.9-104, 400.9-105, 400.9-106 or 400.9-107.\n(b) A security interest in deposit accounts, electronic chattel paper, or letter-of-credit rights is perfected by control under section 400.9-104, 400.9-105 or 400.9-107 when the secured party obtains control and remains perfected by control only while the secured party retains control.\n(c) A security interest in investment property is perfected by control under section 400.9-106 from the time the secured party obtains control and remains perfected by control until:\n(1) The secured party does not have control; and\n(2) One of the following occurs:\n(A) If the collateral is a certificated security, the debtor has or acquires possession of the security certificate;\n(B) If the collateral is an uncertificated security, the issuer has registered or registers the debtor as the registered owner; or\n(C) If the collateral is a security entitlement, the debtor is or becomes the entitlement holder.","path":["Title XXVI - TRADE AND COMMERCE","Chapter 400 - Uniform Commercial Code"],"source_url":"https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSection.aspx?section=400.9-314","current_through":"2026 legislative session (floor)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T22:23:28Z","sha256":"a3ea5b5166da3c1b1481782e13b3fd465615e12761c3d536db77f534bdccac74","source_id":"us-mo","stale":false,"prev":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-400.9-313","next":"us-mo/mo.-rev.-stat.-400.9-315"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
