Code Ann. § 21-31-51","body":"(1) There is hereby created a civil service commission to administer a civil service system in every municipality described in subsection (2) of this section which has administrative and other employees employed on a monthly basis.\n\n(2) The provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall apply to:\n\n(a) Any municipality, operating under a commission form of government, and having a population of more than twenty-one thousand, according to the federal census of 1950; and\n\n(b) Any municipality located in the Yazoo-Mississippi Delta Levee District, and having a population of more than fifteen thousand and less than twenty thousand, according to the federal census of 1950.","path":["MS Code","Title 21"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"8fe239a778316c33fd35ef7a7d208d4fc7136b38658b80d59842792ccbf7a60e","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-21-31-5","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-21-31-53"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
