Code Ann. § 25-11-401","body":"There is established an optional retirement program for employees of the state institutions of higher learning included in Section 37-101-1, Mississippi Code of 1972 , who are appointed or employed after July 1, 1990. To be eligible to participate in the optional retirement program, a newly appointed employee must:\n\n(a)(i) Hold a teaching or administrative faculty position, or\n\n(ii) Hold a position as an intern or resident in training at the University Medical Center or the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University under a teaching program at such institutions; and\n\n(b) Be eligible for membership in the Public Employees' Retirement System of Mississippi.","path":["MS Code","Title 25"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"2ba3699bd4334b815a23ebb381b489ba3024d4146fb7d210db5ec882c50fef47","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-25-11-351","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-25-11-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
