Code Ann. § 25-34-25","body":"(1) A notarial act performed under the authority and in the jurisdiction of a federally recognized Indian tribe has the same effect under the laws of this state as if performed by a notarial officer of this state, if the act performed in the jurisdiction of the tribe is performed by:\n\n(a) A notary public authorized by the tribe;\n\n(b) A judge, a clerk or a deputy clerk of a court of that tribe; or\n\n(c) Any other individual authorized by the law of the tribe to perform the notarial act.\n\n(2) The signature and title of an individual performing a notarial act under the authority of and in the jurisdiction of a federally recognized Indian tribe is prima facie evidence that the signature is genuine and that the individual holds the designated title.\n\n(3) The signature and title of a notarial officer described in subsection (1)(a) or (b) conclusively establish the authority of the officer to perform the notarial act.","path":["MS Code","Title 25"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"07457b92a38247bc2f5be0c58deef6becdf5d2a399cf67c38f5285885853d4f6","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-25-34-23","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-25-34-27"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
