Code Ann. § 31-17-45","body":"The board of supervisors of any county in this state, the mayor and board of aldermen of any municipality in this state, or the governing body of any other taxing district in the state may, in its discretion, purchase outstanding bonds of said county, municipality, or other taxing district and retire such bonds and pay the purchase price thereof out of any surplus remaining in the treasury of such county, municipality, or other taxing district at the end of any fiscal year.
