Code Ann. § 33-13-151","body":"The three (3) kinds of courts-martial in each of the state military forces are:\n\n(a) General court-martial consisting of:\n\n(i) A military judge and not less than six (6) members; or\n\n(ii) Only a military judge, if before the court is assembled the accused, knowing the identity of the military judge and after consultation with defense counsel, requests in writing a court composed of a military judge and the military judge approves;\n\n(b) Special court-martial, consisting of:\n\n(i) Not less than three (3) members; or\n\n(ii) A military judge and not less than three (3) members; or\n\n(iii) Only a military judge, if one has been detailed to the court, and the accused under the same conditions as those prescribed in paragraph (a)(ii) so requests; and\n\n(c) Summary court-martial, consisting of one (1) commissioned officer in the grade of major or above, who shall be a military judge licensed to practice law in this state, or a judge advocate licensed to practice law in this state.","path":["MS Code","Title 33"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"bd609f742b4ee43254c18bd8a797d7b009e4c19b1fbd4bc47afd1947e2130ebe","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-33-13-15","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-33-13-153"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
