Code Ann. § 35-1-9","body":"In addition to all other duties now or hereafter imposed by law, it shall be the duty of the county departments of public welfare, to cooperate with the state veterans affairs board, and to aid all residents of the State of Mississippi who served in the military or naval forces of the United States during any war or police action in which the armed forces of the United States have been, are, or shall be committed for action, their relatives, beneficiaries or dependents, in receiving from the United States any and all compensations, hospitalization, insurance, other aid or benefits to which they may be entitled under existing or hereafter enacted laws of the United States.\n\nThis section shall not be held to repeal any existing law relative to the duties of such county departments, but shall be supplemental and cumulative thereto.","path":["MS Code","Title 35"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"5cb54a66e65dfd1da58a8757ed1bdc4ce635680c8cfcd4f9f203490c6750d85c","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-35-1-7","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-35-3-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
