Code Ann. § 37-28-41","body":"A charter school may exercise those powers necessary for carrying out the terms of its charter contract, including the following powers:\n\n(a) To receive and disburse funds authorized by law for school purposes;\n\n(b) To secure appropriate insurance and to enter into contracts and leases;\n\n(c) To contract with an education service provider for the management and operation of the charter school so long as the school's governing board retains oversight authority over the school;\n\n(d) To solicit and accept any gifts or grants for school purposes subject to applicable laws and the terms of its charter contract;\n\n(e) To acquire real property for use as its facility or facilities, from public or private sources; and\n\n(f) To sue and be sued in its own name.","path":["MS Code","Title 37"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"00f75e6e7608d743a36ea514ceb971d810ab2bf145ee9af213c8bf47fb591efb","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-37-28-39","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-37-28-43"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
