Code Ann. § 37-29-301","body":"The Legislature finds and declares as follows:\n\n(a) Mississippi's public community and junior colleges are Mississippi's best educational buy. An education at Mississippi's community and junior colleges is affordable and accessible to all. Mississippians have an option to attend a community or junior college close to home, with smaller class sizes and at approximately one-half ( 1 / 2 ) the cost of tuition at a public four-year institution;\n\n(b) In recent fiscal years, appropriations for community and junior colleges have not kept pace with increases appropriated to Grades K-12 and the institutions of higher learning;\n\n(c) A need exists to provide adequate funding for Mississippi's community and junior colleges; and\n\n(d) Adequate funding should be accomplished through appropriate funding on a full-time equivalency (FTE) basis.","path":["MS Code","Title 37"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"877bd066844cc2af89f8c0cafe069fcf29bb7b04dea2830b461d7062af8fc69d","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-37-29-3","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-37-29-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
