Code Ann. § 37-6-3","body":"(1) From and after July 1, 1987, all school districts in the State of Mississippi shall have the same prerogatives, powers, duties and privileges as provided in this chapter.\n\n(2) As used in this chapter, the term “school board” shall mean (a) the county board of education of any countywide school district in this state; and (b) the board of trustees of any municipal separate, special municipal separate, consolidated or line consolidated school district in this state.\n\n(3) As used in this chapter, the term “superintendent” or “superintendent of schools” shall mean (a) the county superintendent of education of any countywide school district in this state whose duties require the supervision of students; and (b) the superintendent of any municipal separate, special municipal separate, consolidated or line consolidated school district in this state.\n\n(4) Repealed.","path":["MS Code","Title 37"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"07bd8772310fe21b9b76bc4c7546eacd4511e3e2a90bf811b8f9d959ee7a96cf","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-37-6-15","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-37-6-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
