Code Ann. § 37-97-1","body":"(1) Interscholastic or intramural athletic teams or sports that are sponsored by a public primary or secondary school or any school that is a member of the Mississippi High School Activities Association or public institution of higher education or any higher education institution that is a member of the NCAA, NAIA or NJCCA shall be expressly designated as one of the following based on biological sex:\n\n(a) “Males,” “men” or “boys”;\n\n(b) “Females,” “women” or “girls”; or\n\n(c) “Coed” or “mixed.”\n\n(2) Athletic teams or sports designated for “females,” “women” or “girls” shall not be open to students of the male sex.","path":["MS Code","Title 37"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"fd5722dbd7bd5f8574ce69df691db70a676d99fbef8cb5358fb9498f552dcb05","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-37-73-9","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-37-97-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
