Code Ann. § 41-19-143","body":"The center shall be located on a site selected by the Board of Trustees of Mental Institutions and approved by the Mississippi State Building Commission. The center, however, shall be located as near as possible to an urban area or institution having adequate medical and hospital facilities and shall embrace sufficient land for such agricultural activities as the board may deem necessary for the operation of the institution.\n\nOut of funds provided therefor by the Legislature or from any sources, the state building commission is hereby authorized to purchase or acquire the necessary land for the location of the center, or it may also acquire the land by gift, deed, transfer, or other legitimate means, or the center may be located on land belonging to the state or one of its political subdivisions; however, any such land selected shall be transferred or deeded to the State of Mississippi for the sole use of the Board of Trustees of Mental Institutions in carrying out the provisions of Sections 41-19-141 through 41-19-157 .","path":["MS Code","Title 41"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T20:49:39Z","sha256":"1ab6edda4fff8cd4b67f368184819763895954aca95d88f1e3976df6b5a98058","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-41-19-141","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-41-19-145","notices":[{"id":"open-us-law","title":"Open US Law compilation","text":"Compilation CC BY 4.0, Open US Law (Vaquill AI).
