Code Ann. § 41-67-41","body":"(1) There is created the Wastewater Advisory Council for the purpose of advising the department regarding individual on-site wastewater disposal systems. The advisory council shall be composed of the following:\n\n(a) One (1) appointee of the State Health Officer;\n\n(b) One (1) appointee of the Chairman of the State Board of Health;\n\n(c) One (1) appointee of the Chairman of the State Board of Health that represents a Mississippi Aerobic Treatment Unit (ATU) manufacturer;\n\n(d) One (1) appointee of the Chairman of the State Board of Health that represents a certified installer;\n\n(e) One (1) appointee of the Chairman of the State Board of Health that represents a septic tank or aggregate disposal manufacturer;\n\n(f) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality;\n\n(g) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Office of Pollution Control;\n\n(h) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Commission;\n\n(i) One (1) appointee of the Director of the Mississippi State Board of Registered Professional Geologists;\n\n(j) One (1) appointee of the Chairman of the Department of the Mississippi State University School of Civil and Environmental Engineering Companies;\n\n(k) The federally appointed Mississippi State Soil Scientist, or his designee;\n\n(l) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the American Council of Engineering Companies;\n\n(m) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Home Builders Association of Mississippi;\n\n(n) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Mississippi Engineering Society;\n\n(o) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Mississippi Manufactured Housing Association;\n\n(p) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Mississippi Rural Water Association;\n\n(q) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors;\n\n(r) One (1) appointee of the President of the Mississippi Pumpers Association;\n\n(s) One (1) appointee of the President of the Mississippi Water and Pollution Control Operators Association, Inc.;\n\n(t) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Mississippi Association of Realtors; and\n\n(u) One (1) appointee of the Executive Director of the Mississippi Municipal League.\n\n(2) The members of the advisory council shall elect a chairman and vice chairman from its membership.\n\n(3) The terms of appointments for each member shall be for a period of two (2) years.\n\n(4) The advisory council shall have quarterly meetings, with at least one (1) of those meetings taking place between forty-five (45) and sixty (60) days before the meeting of the board.\n\n(5) The department shall staff all advisory council meetings and record minutes of those meetings.","path":["MS Code","Title 41"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"d4c613ea57ba3483ecc6dc89b20525a3b977c37e015e58db12caccde9a52f000","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-41-67-4","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-41-67-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
